We are excited to announce the 16th annual George Weekley Golf Classic presented by the Wesley Foundation at WCU will be returning to Lake Junaluska Golf Course Saturday, April 25th, 2026 with a 9am shotgun start.

Note: Due to the increased greens fees the past several years (that Wesley has absorbed), we have had to adjust the player fee by $5, still making it an affordable $80 per person. We appreciate your continued commitment to the Wesley Foundation to ensure a quality ministry is here for years to come

 

FAQs:

What is the format? Captains Choice (four person scramble)

What add ons are available for purchase? We offer each player 2 mulligans, 2 tee busters, a 60-40 raffle, and a putting contest

 

What if I only have three people? We strongly encourage all teams to have four players. This allows for the course to move at an even pace given the shotgun start

 

What is the facility like? Parking is limited so we encourage you all to carpool if possible. Restrooms are available at the club house. Golf carts are provided for all players. The pro shop is open for last minute needs. The GPS address is 756 Golf Course Rd, Waynesville, NC 28786.

How long does the tournament last? We suggest arriving between 8:00-8:30. Shotgun is at 9am and we anticipate awards ending around 2. 

​

Are there prizes? Yes! Top three finishing teams receive a round of golf. Closest to the pin, line, and putting contest have prizes as well. 

​

Weather? We play rain or shine!

 

Where do the Golf Classic proceeds go? The Golf Classic provides funding for college students to have a home away from home while at WCU, building a sense of community and purpose. It also funds our service work locally with the food pantry, Project FIRE, and our week long service trip with Wilmington Area Rescue Mission (WARM).
