We have a great relationship with Cullowhee United Methodist Church. We work alongside them and with other community agencies to help those in our area.
Here are some of the ways our students get involved with their local community regularly.

Meals on Wheels
Through the Jackson Department on Aging, we deliver food each Thursday to seniors in our community who need the asssistance of Meals on Wheels. We also help in other ways (such as Operation Christmas Box). It is a great way for students to create friendships with people who are not connected to the university.
Cullowhee UMC's big mission project is Project Firewood: splitting, loading and delivering wood to those who are in need of heat during the winter. It starts in September with Impact Day and goes once a month until March!
In collaboration with the Jackson County Department on Aging, Wesley students gather together to build ramps so that people in our local community can get in and out of their homes safely.
We have been able to continue to do this with safety procedures in place.
United Christian Ministries
Every other Tuesday, Wesley students head to the local food pantry United Christian Ministries - to help stock shelves and help with their computer needs.
Wesley Day Camp
Wesley Day Camp is our way of providing childcare on days that public school is out, yet parents still have to work (ex: Veterans Day). There is a preschool located downstairs from Wesley. It's a great way for our students to help out those parents as well as interact with children!
*temporarily postponed due to COVID-19*
Starting again in 2017, Wesley has worked the concessions stands at WCU home football games. It's a fast paced job, but a lot of fun and students get to serve people in the community. Wesley gets 15% of the profits, so it is a good way to share about our organization while we help hungry customers!
